This almost 1000 HP hypercar is so prestigious that they didn’t have to give it a special model name. If you translate La Ferrari from Italian, you will find out that it’s name is actually “The Ferrari” and that’s it. The famous Sport Car Factory in Maranelo decided to build their first hybrid hypercar, and boy… they have nailed it! Under the futuristic designed body, LaFerrari carries a 6.3 l V12 petrol engine, combined with an electric motor and a trick Kinetic Energy Recovery System. This combination is capable of pumping out around 1000 HP, and 664 lb-ft of torque. Enough to make wrinkles in the road every time you press the throttle!
There are not so many cars on the road that have such a breathtaking appearance and the ability to accelerate as vigorous as the La Ferrari. Thanks to the engine combination, and weight of less than 2,800 pounds, this car has a drag-like performance, and it needs less than 3 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph, while to 124mph, it will need only 7 seconds. The top speed is 217 mph, which is way more than enough for everyone.
The only thing that was quicker than LaFerrari, was the time it took the company to sell all of produced units, and there were 499 of them. They sold them faster than you can say “Double mortgage on the house”. Ferrari also made an even more extreme version of the LaFerrari, the track only version, and it is known as the a hardcore, LaFerrari FXX K model, but we will talk about that one some other day.
